Remote code for Technosonic/s

Hello,

My TV is made by some unknown company, namely Techonosonic (might have an S
on the end), and I am looking to tune the remote into the TV. The manual
doesn't have it, the customer service on the Services menu doesn't have it,
and from as much as I could tell from the man on the end of the phone as Sky
Customer Services, they either don't have it, or can't be bothered to find
it.

Does this mean there isn't a code, there might be somewhere, or that a
different brand's code might work with it?

Thanks for any advice.

Pay a visit to Paul Burgin's excellent web site at
http://www.burgins.com/skydigital. It will probably point you in the
right direction.

However, your first step should be to confirm the make of the TV. I
tried Google searches against various permutations of the name -
Technosonic Technosonics Techonosonic and Techonosonic. None of the
searches identified that manufacturer or brand name.

Panasonic is a well known brand. Technics is another brand. Or
perhaps you have an Optonica TV ?? (code 121).

I tried to find your set-up code via the One-for-All web-site at
http://www.oneforall-int.com/cgi-universa/codesearch.exe/getChips?urc_id=11 -
without success. (You can convert a One-for-All code to work your Sky
Digibox R/C, by identifying the One-for-All code and adding 028. )

You could also try some of the common set-up codes (such as 065),
which work lwith ots of TVs from obscure brand names. Try each of the
codes associated with Bush, Daewoo, Goodmans, Grundig, Philips Samsung
and Thomson. Many factories in Korea, the Philippines and other Far
Eastern countries produce TVs under contract for various
manufacturers - under different brand names. Consequently, Philips,
Samsung, Daewoo and other brands of TV frequently use similar
technology.)

As a last resort, adopt the procedure in Paul Burgin's web-site - and
try every possible code. It will be time consuming, because you may
need to try 1,000 permutations, starting with code 000 and progressing
through all the codes, one by one, until you get to 999.

If you are lucky, you will probably find a code that works.
Otherwise, you will have to accept that your Sky Remote Control is not
compatible with your TV.
